My name is Linda Nixon and I have taught first grade at Cedar Valley for
seven years. I graduated with an elementary education degree from Truman
State University, although it was a Teachers' College when I started there.
I also received my master's degree in Elementary Administration from the
same school.  I first started teaching in public schools in Cedar Rapids and
        taught for fourteen years.

Wendy Cronbaugh started teaching Sixth grade in  1996.  She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and received her masters from Drake University in School Counseling.

Resource

Josie Andrew began volunteering at Cedar Valley Christian School in 1988 as a teacher associate. This lead to a part time position in 1990.  This associate job developed into a resource teacher position, becoming full time in 2,000.   Josie received a BA in English education from Western Illinois University and has completed the introductory therapist training from the National Institute of Learning Disabilities.

Terri Iversen has taught at Cedar Valley for nearly 10 years, first in the third grade half time with Mrs. Lord and then as a reading resource teacher for the primary grades.  She uses the Orton Gillingham method of reading and supervises DIBELS evaluation of grades K-6.  Working with students individually as well as collaborating with Mrs. Andrew in the resource room brings her much enjoyment.  She lives with her husband, Jim, while her three sons attend various colleges in MN and WI.

Junior High / High School

Jan Todd graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington then attended Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids and Université Laval, Québec (Québec) Canada majoring in French.  Jan worked for seventeen years as a volunteer Leader for La Leche League International in various capacities including state newsletter editor, Coordinator of Leader Applicants for Iowa, and Area Treasurer. She has worked at Cedar Valley Christian School in many volunteer capacities since her four children began attending the school in 1985. She has coordinated fund raising, hot lunches, class fundraisers, and the concession stand. She began teaching French in 1992. Since 1993 she has been the Athletic Director for CVCS and Testing Coordinator since 2000.  Jan and her husband of 35 years, Len, work with the computer program providing support whenever possible.

Robin teaches junior high fine arts, girl's Bible and PE, high school drama, and world history. She has a degree in communication from UNI and a degree in English and secondary education from the University of Iowa. This is her fourth year teaching at Cedar Valley. She considers this her dream job and can’t imagine doing anything else.

I have been a teacher at Cedar Valley Christian School for twelve years. I currently teach United States History, American Government, World Geography and Culture, and Psychology. I also teach Driver Education, and have been fortunate to have coached students in basketball and soccer for a number of years. My interests outside of school revolve around my family. My wife is also a teacher, and we have three children of our own. My oldest daughter attends elementary school at Cedar Valley, and we have two sons as well.
On a personal level, my wife and I are both University of Iowa graduates, and follow the Hawkeyes closely. Some years are better than others. Add to that the joys of being a Cubs and Vikings fan, and you can see why we keep a box of Kleenex next to the television. I enjoy a wide variety of activities, including basketball, Ragbrai, karate, and reading. In between activities, I am currently working on a graduate degree in education. Our family has been extremely blessed by our relationship with the people of Cedar Valley Christian School.
